I was born in 94. Coincidence? I think not. It was meant to be. I was born to achieve this score, the ever-elusive ATAR of 99.94. I feel I can do it. I really do.
That aside, I actually worked today. I'm quite impressed. But still more to be done before I can even dream of that .94.
And just randomly, I love that bit after Gandalf's "death" in LOTR. The bit where everyone's crying, and Aragorn's all like "WE MUST SOLDIER ON" and Boromir goes "leave them alone!" And Gandalf was pretty much Aragorn's best friend for...a long time, and he's the one who has to get everyone going. Sniffle. Need to watch it again.

Concerning Hobbits...actually, not really
I was gonna d&m on Tumblr. But it's being screwy. You never let me down blogger. Anyway, I've taken that as a sign that I shouldn't d&m.
I want to play Lord of the Rings. Now. Cause I'm listening to the soundtrack and it's beautiful and makes my heart ache.
The Hobbit's being filmed. Bret's in it. Let's hope he doesn't have a speaking role, cause I'll be giggling just to see him being serious on screen. I don't quite understand why they chose him to play an elf of all things...
Everything about LOTR just gets me right in the heart.
I'm sleepy. Immensely.
I need to evolve my Eevee.
I need to work.
It's building again.

Post script: original title was "journey on"
Another P.S.: Ramble 9 was from September, as is this one. And on second thoughts, this should not be called P.S., seeing as it's a pre, not a post, script. Although that too would be P.S. I guess.
21st September 2010
It's been a while since I wrote a deep post. Well, it's been a while since I posted a deep post. And I'm debating whether or not to post this one. Because I'm not sure of the point of it all. I've just recently re-realised that some things you just have to let go of. And that the world isn't as "out-to-get-me" (yes it's an adjective) as I thought.
I have recently semi-rediscovered my optimism. There are still things I worry about unnecessarily, but I learn to let them go, and I try not to over-analyse things. Because I feel as though I'm preaching to the converted when I tell people that there is hope; because, somehow, our roles were reversed, and the optimism was lost while everyone else was talking of hope and love.
Now I feel like I'm stuck, and I'm not sure of what words to put down here, so I'll stop.
Back to today, being the 3rd of February 2011. Right not, I feel fantastic. But, as I have recently read in many things (usually blogs, being the intellectual I am), happiness is a state of mind. Doubt, fear and sadness could creep back in any time. But where I'm able, I'll try not to let it.
In other news, I sent my new phone off to be repaired, as it does not want to be compatible with my router. My biggest fear is that the techy people are going to find no problem with it, and charge me extortionate amounts of money.

There are days when I feel that I'll never fit in, for a lot of reasons, but I actually don't really mind. The important thing is that I belong; I might not think the same, I might not act the same, or feel the same, but I belong.
Now this has just gone into this huge ramble, and I'm not sure what brought it on. Well, I think I do.
Now I feel like I'm stuck, and I'm not sure of what words to put down here, so I'll stop.
may it be you journey on to light the day. when the dark is overcome, you may rise to find the sunThere's more to be said, but for now, that's enough.

Ramble 14
What is one doing with these last few days before school starts again? Not much. Did some more maths, which is the only kind of homework I'm ever comfortable doing. The problem with me is that I have no interest in the things I'm good at, and I am interested in things I'm not particularly skilled at. Take maths for example. It is easily my best subject, the one I have the least trouble with. But I don't have interest in it. Maths doesn't excite me like languages or history or art.
But that being said, my French and English homework remains a lot more undone (or a lot less done) than that of my maths.
Happy 21st birthday to my brother, and to some other person who lives a few houses up our street. I wish you happiness.
Haven't been out much of late. One day for Alice's party congregation, and of course, that day at Hammer Throw Man Garden/Park for Bubble Cup, prawn crackers and a dragonfly which attempted to attack my noodles. The problem with sitting on grass is that it makes me highly itchy. But it's so comfortable. Dilemmas.
Had an incomplete Lord of the Rings marathon, due to me not wanting to encroach upon dinner time. So we haven't watched the good guys beat the bad guys yet. I have finished reading all three series of Deltora Quest though, and I must say it is spiffing. Have also recently read Quidditch Through The Ages, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I am now wanting to read Peter Pan, which I bought a while ago, but found too nonsensical for me. But in my current mood, I feel up to it.
I also really want to watch Tangled again. My Lion King craving also remains dissatisfied.
Went to the beach the other day with the family, and had fun watching Michelle look like a celebrity. Can't say why she did, but she did. Building a sandcastle, and swimming with her sunglasses on and whatnot. My brother pretended to be Superman. I'm afraid I had no alias.
A reason to be happy: there is colour in the world.

Shaking
I first listened to this on the train from Bordeaux to Paris with Em. It hit me so hard. Whack, right in the heart.
Cause maybe people in love are on the same side when they fightI also got a new phone. Getting used to Swype is fun. It actually managed to figure out the word geographically.
You remember how a while ago, I promised a Babysitter's Club quote? Well, here's one, but it wasn't the one I had in mind, but it just came to mind when someone said something to me. The other one is sitting next to my bed, and I will blog that in due time.
I don't really believe you'd do this, but just think over what I'm going to say: Don't drop Corrie. You're going to start feeling better, Claud, and when you do, you won't need Corrie as much. So don't - don't just drop her...I think each of you can help the other one get stronger. Be careful, that's all. Everyone says little kids don't break, but they do. Inside. Is it strange that cliche passages from children's books hit me so hard?
I have a craving for a mega Lord of the Rings marathon. Who's up for it?
...I don't belong to you and you don't belong to me. And I don't think we need to cause it's just so easy

good day, and special day
No, the title is not a grammatical error.
Well, technically it is. But let's just say that it wasn't a mistake on my part, and that it was highly deliberate for me to act fob. I have a t-shirt which I bought from Hong Kong which says "today is good day and special day". It has a picture of a dog on it too. It's become somewhat of a semi-trademark.
So, yesterday was a good day, and a special one too. And do you want to know why it was good and special? Cause I went to school. Going to school and spending two and a half hours with Lydia and Mr Chua did more for my mood than I could've thought possible, and more than anything else has done for the past couple of days, including just resolutely blasting optimism from my iPod. It gave me a confidence kick, it was fun (yes, going to school on a Saturday is FUN kids), and afterwards we bought Healthy Cup, an experience which taught me that taro and yam is the same thing...is it my fault I'm not very Asian?
So I feel pretty good about music. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't care about the score, but I'm not overly worried about it. Que sera sera, and secondly, I've had fun this year, and I've learnt a lot. For me, that's more important. Or I shall think it so otherwise I'll just become thoroughly depressed if I don't get over 40.

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Her voice is a little bit dodgy on the higher notes, but the music is awesome. I love the Lord of the Rings score.
Frodo heard a sweet singing running in his mind: a song that seemed to come like a pale light behind a grey rain-curtain, and growing stronger to turn the veil all to glass and silver, until a last it was rolled back, and a far green country opened before him under a swift sunrise.

If
I have been less active with this blog. Which is good from the Sarah-attempting-not-to-time-waste point-of-view (you like them hyphens?). There's actually been quite a bit which I've wanted to say, but mega lethargy has been settling in.
I am also filled with a sudden longing to meet him. And a longing to see U2 and the MSO play Disney. Why? Because my brother's going to the U2 gig, and the rest of my family's going to MSO, but I'm not. However, I am going to France, so there's a very good reason for it. Jealous, but I'm lucky to be going, so not fussed.
We come again to this time of the year, when we are massively rehearsing for Speech Night, and we walk around the sitting singing songs (badly) and trying to harmonise. I say trying because my ear is terrible, and I end up abandoning the harmo line anyway for the line which is easiest to hear, and therefore sing.
It's strange how much the music department has become such a big part of my life. I'll really miss it when I leave Macrob. That amazing feeling of being part of something, the going up and playing at lunchtimes, the vibe of it all. I really will miss it. I've met some amazing people through the music program, some of whom will be leaving this year, and I've had the fortune to know and learn under some amazing teachers. I'll really miss it all. And I will miss you year 12s. And no Lydia, I'm not about to cry.
To all those who are going to formal, I hope you have a wonderful night, full of magic and splendour.
If I'm to fall, would you be there to applaud, or would you hide behind them all? Cause if I have to go, then in my heart you'd grow, and that's where you belong. In awesome news, Nadal won the US Open. In all honesty, I didn't expect him to when the Open started nary three or so weeks ago, but he did it. Second youngest man to achieve The Grand Slam (with capitals), and youngest in the Open Era. Has also won gold at Olympics, although tennis wasn't a sport at the Olympics for about seventy years. But still awesome. His humility never ceases to amaze me. His "sportivity" as he dubbed it about six years ago, when he was only a year or so older than I am now, and he won his first grand slam. I'll stop singing his praises now and move on. But well done.

Jealous, but I'm lucky to be going, so not fussed.
If you won't save me, please don't waste my timeMy phone has decided that it no longer wishes to conform with societal norms and function as a normal phone. Therefore, I am using my brother's old Sony Ericsson, which constantly freezes. As in, I am sitting on the train, and I will feel a buzz in my pocket. Expecting a message, I open it up, yet lo and behold, I see a blank screen with the buttons lit up. The phone then resets itself due to "Inactive SIM" (when the SIM is clearly very active), and applies the "YES OPTUS" theme, which is not only ugly, but completely irrelevant seeing as I'm not even with Optus, and it's only set on default cause my brother was with Optus. I need a new phone. Hurry up and expire, oh phone plan mine.

...if I got it wrong? And no poem or song could put right what I got wrong. Or make you feel I belong. What if you should decide, that you don't want me there by your side? That you don't want me there in your life?I also wish to play Lord of the Rings for Speech Night next year; a nice arrangement, with all the soundtracks. But I don't know how we're going to make that happen...I've been listening to The Breaking of the Fellowship over and over. It's beautiful.
To all those who are going to formal, I hope you have a wonderful night, full of magic and splendour.
When the cold of winter comes, starless night will cover day. In the veiling of the sun we will walk in bitter rain. But in dreams, but in dreams. I can hear your name. And in dreams, and in dreams. We will meet again. When the seas and mountains fall, and we come to end of days; from the dark I hear your call. Calling me there. I will go there, and back again.

Of puns and pyros
Haven't blogged in a while. Well, in a while is relative. In a while in Sarah terms. To be honest, I just couldn't be bothered. I still can't be bothered. But I felt that I should do this before it all piled up and I forgot what I was going to talk about.
Jazz night was fairly awesome, despite me only staying until about 8:15. It was still fun on what is known dubbed as the "puns and pyros" table. Owing to the fact that there were way (oh damn, I just made another one) too many puns involving Gavin's last name, and Cat's new-found fascination with burning edible items. Exhausting, but very amusing. I love muso nights.
And why does Google Chrome insist that "movies" is a typo? Maybe it is...how embarrassing would that be for Sarah.
And I went and officially unemo-d my blog (had to put the hyphen there to avoid confusion. Although you're probably still confused). However, because I unemo-d it, I just realised that the centpost is no longer the centpost seeing as I deleted some posts, and it is in fact...
(Sarah goes to check)
...the 99th post, not the one-hundredth (I thought I deleted two. Hmmm). The centpost was in fact the one relating to discrimination, and Sarah's rant about how RC was prejudiced against her. Hrmmm...
It's the thought that counts, right?
Edit at 9:43pm - Now the 86th after a further editing. Eventually it's just gonna end up as the first. Hrmmmm.

Always knew that one day they try to bring me down.I have also discovered the joys of Nirvana. I can't really hear what he's singing, but the general vibe, the beats, the guitar, it's pretty awesome. Which brings up the question of what exactly makes good music. What sets Nirvana apart from something like Linkin Park, which I don't like? I don't know. Don't ask. I have also been listening to 2Pac. Read too paahk. Not pack. I'm looking at you Hasini. Repeat after me: two. Pahk. Good girl.
We can make it better. Better we can.Sydney exchange was also very amusing. Got to spend class-time frolicking in the hall and music suite with Anton. Met some lovely people, and also rediscovered the joys of playing actual clarinet. And the joys of playing Lord of the Rings. We are so playing that for speech night next year. Although I would like a better arrangement. Including all three movies, not just the first one. I love the score for Lord of the Rings. It hurts my heart in a weirdly good way, although it borders on unbearable. It's so moving. Am also currently re-reading Lord of the Rings. Almost halfway through the first book. Tom Bombadil is rather adorable.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

Toy Story 3: Part II
Finally (well after a two-day delay) watched Toy Story 3 yesterday, and our large group of about seven or eight people dwindled down to J-dawg, me, Marie and my sister. Verdict: It was good. Because it's Disney/Pixar, and they always manage to make awesome movies. I can't think of a movie which has been a flop. Listening to songs I got off my five volumes of Disney right now.
It was sad, and I almost cried, which is good. Haven't cried in a movie for a while. I love Buzz, but then I realised he had no abs, because he's got this weird springy squidgy thing in his middle where he should have stomach muscles. But I'm sure he would have them if he could. So after I came home, I proceeded to listen to You've Got A Friend In Me eight times. It's a pretty short song, so I didn't really get sick of it.
Jessica, I can see that sock puppet.
Also finished watching the first Lord of the Rings last night, and almost cried, which is also good. Then I had May It Be stuck in my head, but because I seem to have misplaced the soundtracks of the first and second movies, I couldn't listen to it. Will get it from Aly soon though. Can't wait. Also cannot wait for a massive LOTR marathon during the summer holidays. Baha.
Songline of the moment:
Definitely Maybe - Oasis, 1994

The Lord of the Rings (all three soundtracks) - largely Howard Shore
Ratatouille Soundtrack - Michael Giacchino, 2007
Up! Soundtrack - Michael Giacchino, 2009
Parachutes - Coldplay, 2000
Albums I would describe as top-ten:

The College Dropout - Kanye West, 2004
Late Registration - Kanye West, 2005

In no particular order. But it's more of an adjective...yeah. I make up adjectives.
May it be an evening star shines down upon you.
May it be when darkness falls, your heart will be true.

You've got a friend in me. When the road is rough ahead, and you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed; you just remember what your old pal said. Said you've got a friend in me.
Jessica, I can see that sock puppet.
You walk a lonely road. Oh! How far you are from home.
Mornie utúlië; believe and you will find a way.
Mornie alantië; a promise lives within you now.

May it be you journey on to light the day
When the night is overcome, you may rise to find the sun.
This silence is slowly killin' meFrom the new Maroon 5 single, entitled Misery. Because the chorus goes something like: I am in misery. Yeah, it's not that great. I miss their Songs About Jane days. I loved that album. Top-five, if we use that word as an adjective, because I think there are more than five albums which I have said to be top-five. Mmm...they would include:
